ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

In the past, the "Shorei Nagashi" festival was a seasonal feature of O-bon that was observed all over Osaka. Starting this year, this traditional O-bon event, in which the spirits of the deceased are placed on a Shorei Boat along with offerings and sent down the river, will be held at the Osaka International Convention Center Port in Nakanoshima Banks along the Dojima River. Candlesticks and candles are placed on the banks of the river, and there is a place for visitors to think of their loved ones and pray. Offerings that visitors have brought with them will be placed on the Shorei Boat, which will set sail at the end of the event.
