Synopsis
Hasegawa Chokichi (Soganoka Bundou), the owner of the kimono shop "Hasegawa" in Ningyocho, has four sons with his wife Hatsue. The second son, Chojiro (Eto Jun), and the third son, Chozaburo (Kobayashi Isao), have each started their own businesses, while the youngest son, Shiro (Yoshi Ikuzo), stays at home to help out at the shop. However, Shiro, the "youngest son," is known as an eccentric character in the town, and is always making those around him nervous. Nevertheless, the store is supported by the head clerk Tada Koichi (Maeda Koyo), who is skilled at dealing with customers, the reliable daughter of the previous head clerk Haruno Yoko (Yoshimoto Miyoko), and the gentle but shrewd newcomer Shinjo Miki (Shintani Himeka), who encourage Shiro and support Chokichi.
Chokichi has not been feeling well lately and has finally decided to close the store. However, Shiro, with Yoko's help, tries to face this difficult situation...
