[Synopsis]
At seven o'clock on December 15th, 15th year of Genroku, the 47 Ronin of Ako trample through the falling snow and arrive at the gate of Kira Kozukenosuke in Honjo Matsuzaka-cho. With the leader, Oishi Kuranosuke, beating a Yamaga-style battle drum as a signal, they charge in to avenge their fallen lord.

Yay, I am Shimizu Ichigaku, a page of the Kira family, and the Ako Roshi have arrived!

I will be your opponent, Horibe Yasubei Taketsune, a former retainer of Asano Takumi-no-kami of Ako in Banshu.

The story goes back seven years to the time of the raid, when the Tokugawa shogunate had been in power for five generations and Shogun Tsunayoshi ruled. The country was at peace and culture was in full bloom. Edo, in particular, was the shogun's home and boasted of its greatest prosperity since the beginning of the shogunate. On the other hand, martial arts were completely neglected and money spoke more than spears and swords. Combined with the government's policy of eliminating daimyo, the unemployment rate for samurai far exceeded five percent, and 808 towns were filled with ronin who had lost their stipends and were unable to find employment. It is the 8th year of the Genroku era, the year of the boar. In Edo Asakusa, the grounds of Sensoji Temple are bustling with the Sansha Festival, and Yasubei and Igaku are in the midst of this.
The gears of their destiny begin to turn.
