ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
We will hold "Kansai Art Annual 2025", which will create a place for young artists with ties to Kansai to present and appreciate their works. This exhibition was launched as a new cultural promotion project by the Association for the Promotion of Contemporary Art in Japan (APCA), a general incorporated association that has been running the "ART OSAKA" art fair specializing in contemporary art for over 20 years based in Osaka, in collaboration with Shinsaibashi PARCO, which has continued to disseminate cultural value based on co-creation with up-and-coming creators.
There are many unique galleries in Kansai, each of which serves as a platform for contemporary art and provides a place for artists to hone their unique expressions. In this exhibition, we will select noteworthy artists together with selected galleries around Shinsaibashi PARCO, and expressions that reflect the times will color the venue.
Since its opening, Shinsaibashi PARCO, the venue, has gone beyond the scope of a simple commercial facility and has disseminated cultural value through advertising and creativity. At the root of this is the spirit of co-creation with up-and-coming creators, and it has always been at the forefront of the times.
The title of this year's inaugural exhibition, "CO," stands for collaboration and symbolizes not only the co-creation between artists and galleries, but also the cooperation of the diverse players who support contemporary culture. We hope that this exhibition will provide an opportunity for all visitors to build new relationships with contemporary art and gain richer perspectives.
