"Someday, Akane Sasu at the Window"

After a family meeting one day. The woman in charge of the family meeting is listening to the feelings of a man whose first public recount of his experiences did not go well. More participants join in, returning to retrieve forgotten items, and while the frustration of a family facing illness in a daily life surrounded by alcohol is buried in the sunlight that is positively confronting the illness, it shines through the window of the room after the rain.

In the evening, the large glass door at the entrance is broken, and a caseworker is piecing together cardboard boxes to repair it. His colleagues are also restless, as they take a patient who was injured by breaking the glass door to the hospital. Then a woman who claims to be the patient's mother comes to visit. It turns out that the patient hid and slipped (drank again), and was taken to the hospital again. The case worker somehow manages to encourage the dejected mother. When she starts working again, she finds a piece of paper stuck in the cardboard box.

"Smile and Forgive Me."

A middle-aged man and woman head to a nursing home to pick up a senior member of the Alcoholics Anonymous group. They want the senior member to see them in their finery, as they are about to receive an award for their sobriety. However, the senior member has not come out of his room at all, and they suspect that he may have had a slip (relapse) while out last night... While waiting for the senior member with the nursing home staff and a young mental health and welfare worker, they reflect on their lives with alcohol.
